Tips To Help Make Your Hotel Stay More Relaxing

Blog

When you're traveling, a vacation can sometimes be more stressful than relaxing. Driving from place to place in unfamiliar areas, dealing with traffic, keeping up with the constant go-go-going on your trip, plus the time you spend at your hotel without having the usual comforts of home can all add up to stress. See below for some helpful tips and hacks to use when staying at your hotel to help make your stay a little more relaxing.

Make It Kid-Safe

Traveling with kids is stressful enough, but then you have to worry about staying at a hotel with your young child and not having a crib or bumpers around the bed to protect your child. Use what you have in the room to help make it a little safer for your little one. Push two small chairs together (seat to seat) to create a bed for a small child. Use a towel as a sheet to cover the chair. You can also use the bed, but line the area around your child with either pillows, or rolled up towels beneath the sheet to use as bumpers to prevent your child from falling out of bed.

No Table, No Problem

You may get tired of eating out when traveling. If your hotel motel doesn't have a small table to use to eat a meal, use the ironing board covered with a clean towel or a plastic tablecloth. You can raise and lower it to any height you want and use the bed as your seat.

Cook With The Coffee Pot

If your hotel room doesn't have a kitchen (many don't), use the coffee pot to help boil water to make things like oatmeal for breakfast, Ramen noodles, or macaroni and cheese cups, and of course coffee. If your room has a microwave, you can heat up more than that. Be creative with cooking in your room to help save you some cash while traveling.

Bring Some Comforts From Home

To help your little ones from getting homesick, bring a few things from home to help keep them smiling. Things such as a favorite stuffed animal or their pillows from home can help make sleeping in a new bed a little easier. Also bring along their favorite movie or board game that you can watch or play when in the room.

Traveling can be stressful enough, but staying in an unfamiliar area and at a hotel for days on end can all add to your stress. Use the tips above to help make your stay a little less stressful so you can actually enjoy your trip.

Finding the Right Lodging During Travel

Finding a comfortable place to stay while you're on the road may seem like an easy task, but you can't always judge a book by its cover – just because a hotel looks great on the outside doesn't mean that it offers the amenities and conveniences that you want. Luckily, there is some easy legwork you can do to ensure that the hotel you choose to lodge in is exactly the right place. I have traveled the country multiple times, and my personal experience has taught me many ways to find awesome lodging at an affordable rate, right in the vicinity that I would like to stay no matter where I happened to be. So I decided to pass the information I've learned along to people like you, right here on this blog. Enjoy!
