5 Reasons To Rent A Hotel Room For Less Than A Day

Blog

For most travelers, the shortest hotel stay is an overnight booking. But have you considered the value of using a hotel room for even less time? If not, here are five reasons you might want to consider a hotel room even when you don't need it for a full day.

1. During Layovers

A long layover at the airport usually means spending hours in the terminal trying to figure out what to do with your downtime. It also means airport food, crowds, constant noise, and nowhere to get comfortable. Make your layover more enjoyable, more productive, or easier to sleep through by booking an airport hotel room and using its shuttle.

2. When You Have Kids

Traveling with kids can be a real challenge, especially on a busy schedule or in a strange city. Could a place to put your kids down for a nap help? What about a midday break in a refreshing pool? Or maybe you could just use a few hours for a break after exploring a nearby theme park. Whatever your travel goals, a hotel room could provide rest and relaxation for busy families on the go.

3. In Between Meetings

Business travelers often need to get work done on the road, prepare for meetings or presentations, or organize their projects. While some of this can be done at the local coffee shop, this isn't always the best environment. And certainly, it doesn't provide any privacy. On the other hand, a room in a hotel that caters to business travelers could provide both the resources and quiet you need.

4. To Prepare for a Big Day

Anyone getting ready for a big day — such as a wedding, major anniversary, or graduation — could usually use a dedicated space to prepare in. Even if you don't plan to spend the night, a hotel room or suite could provide plenty of space to work, can accommodate multiple people, and will look nice in photos.

5. To Use Amenities

Want something offered by a particular hotel? Perhaps a hotel has the best view of nearby fireworks, or you just want to sit by a fancy pool and sip drinks for a few hours. Maybe you need a secure place to park while touring downtown or extended parking while you go on vacation. There's no reason you can't book a room in order to use the amenities offered along with it.

Finding the Right Lodging During Travel

Finding a comfortable place to stay while you're on the road may seem like an easy task, but you can't always judge a book by its cover – just because a hotel looks great on the outside doesn't mean that it offers the amenities and conveniences that you want. Luckily, there is some easy legwork you can do to ensure that the hotel you choose to lodge in is exactly the right place. I have traveled the country multiple times, and my personal experience has taught me many ways to find awesome lodging at an affordable rate, right in the vicinity that I would like to stay no matter where I happened to be. So I decided to pass the information I've learned along to people like you, right here on this blog. Enjoy!
